Sometimes a meeting has finished early at you have 15 minutes to the next one. Or you have just finished some key tasks quicker than you thought, and have some time before that next meeting.
If so, how can you maximise that time?
Well, here are a few thoughts:
Have a glass of water
Stretch those legs
Speak to someone
Listen to music
Read an article
Check out the mortgage news
Reply to just one email
Clear the clutter
Plan tomorrow
Doodle
Let's take a quick look at each of these...
Have a glass of water
In the past, we would all be staring at a glass of water in a meeting. But now, with so many online, people don't really drink during a virtual call. Drinking water is the easiest way to stay healthy. If you become dehydrated, your energy levels drop. So go grab a glass of water.
Stretch Those Legs
After water, moving is the next most important thing you can do. It's good for the blood flow and helps general wellbeing. So stand up, move and go for a quick walk before that 3pm meeting begins.
Speak To Someone
If you are in the office with that 15 minutes to use, why not have a quick chat with someone. You never know, it might just make their day.
Listen To Music
For me, music energises me. It may not be the same for all, but just take the time to recharge with that glass of water and your favourite song. Maybe one you can dance to, to keep you moving.
Read An Article
Read an article on your favourite website. Or why not use your 15 minutes to come back to these Snackable articles and read more of them.
Check out the mortgage news
It might now sound the most exciting thing to do, but keeping up with the mortgage market news might not be a bad idea.
Reply to just one email
If you have had plenty of water and just had a walk, use the time to reply to just one email - that one you have been putting off.
Clear the clutter
Clear the clutter from your desk. Recycle old papers hanging around. Delete some emails. Whatever it may be, get rid of things that get in the way of your working day.
Plan Tomorrow Use this 15 minutes to plan what you will be doing tomorrow. Get ahead of the game. Doodle Just let your mind wander. Grab a pen or pencil and see what you draw. Doodling is a great way of boosting your cognitive skills and helping you generate fresh ideas. Just give it a go.
